A Win for Freedom of Speech and The Second Amendment

The Hononegah, IL school has agreed to pay a former student $35,000 to settle federal allegations that her civil rights were violated at a school-staged, anti-gun violence walkout.

Hononegah students left their classes to gather on the football field for a ‘die-in' and advocated ‘the banning of certain firearms, and the prohibition of certain law-abiding persons from possessing firearms, as a way to achieve school safety,' according to the lawsuit.”

Because Madison supported gun rights, and claimed she was discriminated against:

“She and five other demonstrators had to wait until the students who supported gun control walked out of the building. Her group had to stand on the sidewalk near the high school's front door while the anti-gun violence students staged their demonstration on the football field some distance away.”

Note the further examples of Tolerance and Inclusion manifested at this school event:

“‘One student yelled at Madison to kill herself. Another student took pictures of Madison's group, one of which reportedly became an online meme and method of ridicule among the other HCHS students,' the lawsuit states.”

Kudos to Madison and her parents for defending her rights in court.
